Starting Point: Agios Nikolaos church
The trail of the largely uninhabited islet of Dokos, begins from the cove of Skinto, where sea-taxis can dock and ascends east towards the col, above the few, mostly abandoned, old farmhouses. A short hike from there, the castle peak is accessible towards the north. A clear trail heading south-east also begins from the col and leads towards the islet’s summit, passing above the mostly derelict lighthouse. The wild, rocky nature of the islet, combined with the place’s historical value, offers a unique, yet fairly difficult, hiking experience. Note that the trails of Dokos islet are not way-marked.
